On Memorial Weekend Troy Smith, a boy scout with troop 535, built and installed 5 duck nesting boxes on our property.  This was a project for his Eagle Scout requirement.  Troy writes “These breeding boxes will help provide a place for ducks to have their ducklings and stay safe until they are old enough to protect themselves.  They will be put on the side of a tree within a mile of water facing open water.  The boxes will be made out of cedar in order to withstand weather conditions.”
